Zero Impact Adventures is an adventurous team comprising two best friends and airline pilots Tom Reynolds & James Van Der Hoorn.
Both fierce advocates for the environment, they strive to change the narrative on how we must face the climate crisis - by dropping individual consumer guilt and working on fundamental change.
ZIA embarked on a record breaking (and carbon-negative) expedition through the mountains & glaciers of Greenland with Creative Director Charlotte joining the expedition team
Together, we have created a feature length adventure film SPLIT
"In every journey we take, we all have a responsibility to minimise our footprint. Through engagement, awareness and education we can even have a positive influence.
We truly believe that through harbouring our adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors we can be part of big social change."
THE EXPEDITION
Over 200 kilometers across Greenland
Tom, James & Charlotte travelled to the remote Stauning Alps by ski & splitboard in the Spring of 2022.
The expedition was one of endurance and the longest of it's kind attempted by splitboard. Not only did the team aim to set this world record, they also planned to summit two never before climbed mountains in the Stauning Alps.
The team set off across sea-ice pulling sleds weighing up to 100kg. They followed glaciers, scaled mountain passes & traversed fjords. They endured 60mph arctic winds, temperatures of 30 below, frostbite, glacial instabilities in a warming climate, and not to mention the ever present threat of polar bears.
In creating this film following a challenge that had no guarantee of success, we endeavour to offer hope & inspire action in a world where equal uncertainty & challenge faces us all
